Shioya Fishing Port・Seaweed Factory
From Shioya Fishing Port, you can see a 360-degree panoramic view from the Seto Inland Sea to Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Awaji Island, and Mt. Rokko. In addition, this seaweed factory visit was possible because Shioya local guide was very friendly with the producer, and you can see how the nori from Hyogo Prefecture(include Kobe), which boasts the second largest producer in Japan, is made and experience real nori tasting.
Guggenheim House
Overlooking the sea of Shioya, the former Guggenheim House is a colonial-style Western-style building have been built in 1908 by an English architect. Since then, it has been standing on the sea for more than 100 years, and has become a filming location for many movies. The former Guggenheim House is part of the Shioya landscape, and the view of the Seto Inland Sea from there is a wonderful view.
Shioya Shopping Street
One of the pleasures is eating at Shioya shopping street lined with private shops. In the shopping street, you can enjoy 8 snacks and drinks while enjoying local communication with the shop staffs. Croquettes shops, restaurants, fish markets, Tofu shops, bakeries, cake shops, greengrocer shops, and more, sure you will find your favorite shops!
