The Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum
The only museum in Japan which is specialized in carpentry tools. They have more than 35,000 materials including tools from ancient times and introduce Japanese craftsmanship through various exhibitions. You can learn how Japanese people use tools with technique and wisdom and how tools have been developed with wooden architecture. Workshops where you can actually touch carpentry tools are also available.
The world heritage Himeji Castle
Himeji Castle is also known as “White Egret Castle” from its brilliant white exterior and resemblance to a bird spreading wings. It is recognized as one of the best wooden architecture in Japan and contains many of the defensive and architectural features associated with Japanese castles. You will be amazed by its advanced technique and wisdom of Japanese people.

Kobe Port → Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum → Soshuen or Sorakuen Garden (Lunch) → Himeji Castle → Kobe Port
