CONVENIENT ACCESS ACROSS JAPAN FROM THE PORT OF KOBE
Kobe City is situated near the center of the long, north-south stretch of the Japanese archipelago, making it a very convenient location for traveling from various regions of Japan by ship, train, or airplane. To Kobe Airport, there are regular flights from various cities across Japan. International chartered flights began to fly to Kobe in April 2025, and regular international flights are set to begin in 2030. Additionally, Kobe can be reached from Kansai International Airport in approximately 30 minutes via the high-speed Bay Shuttle ferry. RAILWAYS
The Shinkansen, a super express bullet train operated by Japan Railways, has a nationwide network that connects Kobe with major cities such as Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. There are also many private railways that serve Kobe, which gives easy access to other cities in the region such as Kyoto and Osaka.

TRANSPORTATION WITHIN THE CITY
The Port of Kobe is close to downtown and can be reached on foot. Additionally, the Port Liner, the world's first fully automated, driverless new transportation system, is directly connected to Port Terminal, one of Kobe’s terminals. The Port Liner runs between Sannomiya Station, Kobe’s main terminal station, and Kobe Airport. At Sannomiya Station, you can transfer to various modes of transportation such as the JR railway line, subway, private railways, express buses, and local buses, giving easy access to your sightseeing and shopping destinations.
HIGHWAY NETWORK
The Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, the world's 2nd longest suspension bridge with 3,911 meters in length, connects Kobe and Awaji Island. You reach the island of Shikoku through Awaji Island.
THE "SETOUCHI"
The Port of Kobe serves as a gateway for cruises through the Seto Inland Sea, surrounded by the islands of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. The unique, picturesque scenery of over 700 islands has made it one of the most popular cruise destinations in Japan. Numerous boats come and go through the Seto Inland Sea, enjoying the beautiful views along the way.
